Suburban House re-opens in Pikesville!      Margaret Rome's "Kitchen" is Back!

It was a bad night a year ago when my "kitchen" burned down. The fire was not at my house, but at the restaurant that served as our kitchen away from home. My "Kitchen" Burned Down! Baltimore, Md.

But now my kitchen is open again! They've added things to the menu, and they've moved to a new location that is bright and colorful and has loads of parking. We still felt right at home!

Even though the official reopening hasn't been celebrated yet, I been twice already . The Suburban House still has the same ownership and our favorite server, Mitzu, was there to greet us. The second time  Peg Silloway  and i were served by Nikki – we loved her attitude and attentiveness.

It has always been true that I see at least one or two people I know at Suburban House, and this time was no exception. Plus, our next-table neighbor was a delightful visitor from Georgia named Jim Silverman. Turned out Jim represents the company that sells some of the delicious meats they serve at Suburban House. He got a bowl of Suburban House's famous matzo ball soup and pronounced it "great!"

It was a day for several celebrations. Besides the good food – check out those onion rings and our sandwiches – Peg was celebrating a fantastic review of her Cat Lover's Book of Days that appeared in the Summer 2010 issue of Healthy Pet magazine. She says that, thanks to that review, she's had a lot of sales, both directly and through Amazon.com. You can read the review on her website.

It's such a relief to have my "kitchen" back. During these first few weeks at the new location they are limiting the hours. They are open 7 days a week, closing at 6:00PM. Hint..If you  arrive by 6pm you can stay and enjoy dinner with no rush.
