BSO Baltimore Symphony and Gershwin
BSO Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Gershwin
Baltimore Symphony Orchestra Principal Pops conductor Jack Everly led the BSO in a performance of the Gershwin Brother's most popular works. We were lucky enough to attend tonight's performance.
Broadway star, from Mama Mia, Judy McLane joined the BSO in a jazz-filled program devoted to the greatest hits from the George and Ira Gershwin Songbook. A few of the selections included ... They Can’t Take That Away From Me, Someone to Watch Over Me and songs from Porgy and Bess,
Brothers Ira and George Gershwin collaborated to create some of the most memorable songs of the 20th century. Their fascinating rhythms filled this beautiful room as Stewart Goodyear, an accomplished young artist, performed Rhapsody in Blue and received a well deserved standing ovation.
The concert will also be here on Saturday, January 7 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, January 8, 2012 at 3 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
