You don’t have to ask, “Where’s the Beef?” at the Poncabird Pub

You don’t have to ask, “Where’s the Beef?” at the Poncabird Pub

When leaving a showing on my newest listing a couple of days ago – a listing thanks to a Lenn Harley referral - we passed the Poncabird Pub. This was an old lunch stop for Lee when he worked in the area.

After listening to him rave about the burgers, we decided to stop in for a visit. He was right! No one had to ask, “Where is the Beef?” at the Poncabird Pub, that’s for sure. Just look at the size of that burger made fresh right in front of us by Nate who has been working this pub for the past 19 years.

I asked permission to photograph him…he was delighted and took the camera to show everyone his photo and the photo of his yummy burger. Our charming waitress, Danielle (who likes to be called Dani) has been working at the Pub for seven years. Both of them obviously love their jobs. They treated us special - a real down home feeling of comfort that made me glad I climbed the flight of steps to this local favorite.

We found out that the name of this neighborhood spot with a "Cheers" feeling came from the two intersecting streets - Ponca and Holabird. Makes sense!

Anyone going to see my listing at 7221 Holabird Ave in Dundalk, be sure to take time to visit the Poncabird Pub. There's been a lot of action already with twelve showings in less than a week! It is now UNDER CONTRACT!

If you have the buyer for any other of my listings, I will treat you to lunch at…guess where?

Another Way of Looking at Things

Las Vegas at night HomeRome Realty
While in Vegas for a few days, I was in the mood to capture some eye candy. You all know by now about my former career as a ceramic artist, and that I love to photograph fine handcrafts. Such Beauty..... Winter Craft Show in Baltimore  and They Gotta Live Somewhere and Baltimore Annual Craft Show – Ice Can't Stop Art.
Chihuly Blue Flowers HomeRome Realty Orchids HomeRome Realty
Is there any place with more ornamentation, and more styles, than Las Vegas? So where better to indulge my habit? This time it was flowers that caught my attention – both the kind that Mother Nature created, and the incredible forms by Dale Chihuly. If you ever have a chance to see this glass master's work in person, do it. From tiny, delicate bubbles to massive landscape pieces, the works that come out of Chihuly's studio are exquisite.

What does this have to do with real estate? Only that when we stop to admire and appreciate the work of a fine artisan in any business, we reinvigorate our own creative abilities. We learn to see things from other perspectives, to bring new vision to situations. Sounds like a good idea no matter what your profession! There just might be.....

Mom used to say ...Buy a 5th on the 3rd for the 4th!

My friend IraMy Lee   Ira,iPad,Carol

It was another beautiful day in Baltimore and a perfect day to entertain friends Ira and Carol Serkes from Berkeley California. They were available at noon and had a 3:00 train. So where do we go.. lunch and what do we want to show off but our Maryland seafood. So off it was to the Bay Café..not a first, we took Allen Hainge, founder of the CyberStars™ a few years ago You Can Get There From Here…Baltimore's Bay Café  It is through the CyberStars™ that  I met Ira and Carol.

The highlight of lunch was Ira showing off the iPad. Such a cool toy to play with! Just look at that concentration.

While having lunch overlooking the water, a crabber was busy bringing in blue crabs….such a simple task. He took a piece of string tied to a piece of raw chicken and dropped it in the water. He had several lines in place and every once in a while pulled on the string and voila..a crab was caught. So important to always have a camera ready and lucky to get these photos. The first little guy is a bit too small and tossed back into the bay. The others were probably 4th of July delicacies.
