Stay-cation in Baltimore...Is It Right For You?

Stay-cation...Is It Right For You?

My recent post Jump in..the Water's Fine! Vacationing in Baltimore, received this comment from a wonderful member Christine O'Shea, a Broker in Naples, Florida:
                                                Christine O'Shea
''Ahhh, nothing like a "stay-cation" Baltimore style...''  You don't have to forgo a vacation this year. Just rename it..a ''stay-cation".

Think of the economy if we all encouraged Stay-cations. We could help our local business community while saving on gas, reduce the stress of traveling, no lines at the airport, no lodging costs and NO PACKING !!  With no travel time...you have more time for vacation and fun.

This might not be right for everyone...but it just might be right for you!
There is so much to do in our own Baltimore and surrounding areas... and there is no need for all those maps and directions.

One part of your stay-cation, could be a tour of Baltimore. And I have the perfect person for you to contact.

                                                                                                 JohnWater Zippy Larson
Named by City Paper as "The most entertaining senior citizen on the planet" my friend Zippy Larson,  gives tours  in Baltimore and loves to share her wealth of knowledge. Zippy give talks about historic Fell's Point, Little Italy & Locust Point.. These talks are part of her tour and here are few tidbits Zippy shared about her sample tours.

''-Folks in Locust Point walked to work at the sugar and soap factories. If they could not pay the mortgage, the savings and loan carried them without penalty until they got on their feet.

-The Spaghetti Bowl  - In Little Italy, east of the inner harbor, see sallyports, coal holes, formstone and painted screens

-Wallis Warfield Simpson grew up in Mt. Vernon, played in the parks, went to school and grew up to dance on the world stage, then returned as a Duchess with her Prince.

-Fell's Point's Greek belly dancers charmed merchant seamen on shore leave and student nurses from Johns Hopkins with their dates.''

I promise you will  enjoy and learn more about Baltimore.
At the same time you will continue to enjoy your Stay-cation!

I Have The Buyers in Baltimore, MD Are You Ready to Sell?

I have the buyers in Baltimore! Are you ready to sell ?

I Have The Buyers -HomeRome 410-530-2400

I have just started working with a delightful couple. How long do you think it will take me  to find them a home?

Remember I always ask for their wish list.  Here are some of their requirements...quite practical,

''We are looking for a home  up to $250,000. Must be pet friendly for our two dogs, so a fenced yard would really be nice. We are a young couple and would  like a garage... but will consider a parking pad that would comfortably fit an 18 foot work van. It does not have to be a large home...  2 or more bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths.  We would like a sunny home with outdoor space for entertaining. We really like to garden, entertain and love barbecuing.

We have been driving around looking for a place and need your help.
Some areas to consider but not limited to... would be Canton, Highlandtown, Patterson Park and Mount Washington. We will consider Baltimore County, if it is somewhat close to Baltimore City, up I- 83 or the outskirts of the city. We really like biking to work and would want that option. Both of us dislike traffic and the stress it causes.

We would like to start looking now but can be flexible with a moving date as late as this summer or even early Fall. If you are thinking about selling your home and it in the $250,000 price range, has at least 2 bedrooms, a couple of baths, a bit of grassy area for our dogs and parking, I would love for you to contact my REALTOR® Margaret Rome with HomeRome Realty mrome@HomeRome.com 410-530-2400
We are serious buyers and could give you ample time to find your new home.''

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like.... Halloween in Baltimore

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like.... Halloween in Baltimore.

This afternoon while visiting  dear friends and former clients who live across near 7011 Concord Rd. Colonial Village, Pikesville, MD 21208 Single Family Home Under $185,000   I could not help but take a few photos to share with you.

Thinking about going over tomorrow night and taking Brad Andersohn's  suggestion. Did you read his post?  ''... don't forget to do as many tricks as you give out treats. My favorite trick of all is to Dress up as though you are the inanimate Halloween Decor for your lawn. Example: scarecrow, Frankenstein, etc. Be as still as you can. When someone walks by, jump out and scare the heck out of them. (not little children of course) It works every time!"

This is just some of  the eye candy on their lawn.

Thought the American Flag was a nice touch.

Sky Blue Pink in Baltimore This Evening!

Sky blue pink has been used by parents when the kids keep asking about naming a color. It was a  “mind your own business”  or "don't bother me" with  an unwanted question. My mother used the term "gribble green" as a  description of some  weird color or it doesn't matter what the  color.

I am suggesting you don't miss the beauty of our colors...they are gone in a flash!

They say there is no such color as sky blue pink...but they just might be wrong. I saw it tonight. Can you see the sky blue pink?

The season is changing but there was  Sky Blue Pink in Baltimore this evening!

I have been writing about the beauty of our fall colors in Baltimore. Things are Changing in Baltimore!
The trees are vibrant but in a very short time, the leaves are all going to be on the ground.  Are you taking time to enjoy the nature around? Or are you waiting to complain about the raking and the leaf blowing?

Kind of like real estate, there is much to enjoy with our listings, our sales and our successful settlements. Times are fleeting just like the colors an d the leaves.

Please, please take time to enjoy!
