Sonny Lee's Hunan Taste...Lunch in the Baltimore Area

This week we enjoyed a lovely lunch at Sonny Lee's Hunan Taste located at 750 Main Street in Reisterstown, Md.

Since I always have my camera ready, I took a few pictures to show you and maybe even make you a bit hungry.

 

The dish on the top row Moo Shu Chicken (shredded chicken sauteed with cabbage, carrots, mushrooms, bean sprouts and scallions) is served with pancakes and plum sauce. There was plenty for all three of us to try...yummy.

The second row Hunan Chicken (sliced chicken sauteed with broccoli, mushrooms and baby corn) is served with a spicy brown sauce.

Those triangles are delicious scallion pancakes that we started with as an appetizer. They are not on the menu but Erica had them before and made a special request.

Lee really liked the House Lo Mein (beef, chicken, shrimp, napa, mushrooms, bean spouts and scallions) which was served in a small wok. At Sonny Lee's you have a choice of white rice, brown rice or fried rice.

It was a delightful evening with good music in a great building.

 

 

 

 

The Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall is home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Founded in the early 20^th century, the BSO is recognized as a world-class music organization. The Meyerhoff was opened in 1982 specifically to showcase music performances.

 

Inside and out, the building combines a massive presence with a feeling of openness thanks to soaring walls of glass that let light into the lobby.  

.

There are no flat walls or 90-degree angles in the hall, and every surface, including the giant screw heads on the ceiling, was designed and tuned to present performances from the stage with clarity and warmth.

The BSO made history when it appointed Marin Alsop as  Music Director, the first female conductor of a major American Orchestra.

Do You Have A Favorite Color?

For those who know me.. know my  favorite color is brown.

It's one of those earthy colors that I never tire of. I have friends who love the color blue and green and most little girls, when asked, will say their favorite is pink and/or  purple. 

When I think of certain people, I can identify them with specific colors. For instance Carra Riley  is a definite purple,  Joeann Fossland   is into red and my friend Peg is turquoise.

I know people who  dislike green, yellow and orange. This warty gourd would be something they would definitely not like!

There were eleven of us dining at Sushi Sakura, our first visit to this restaurant even though it is right in the heart of Pikesville next to the Gucci Giant. 

Our lovely waitress, Cindy, was superb. All the orders were right and served with a big smile.

 

 

Orders to remind me to take pictures, were not followed. Having so much fun, a variety of foods and good conversation, I forgot to take photos of our dishes.

So what does one do when this happens?

You go to the other diners who are quietly enjoying their evening and you beg ask if you can "shoot" their food.

Such delightful guests who allowed my intrusion so I would have some pictures to share with you.
