Do You Have The Patience to Wait?

Do You Have The Patience to Wait?

It takes patience to wait for business. It also takes patience to wait

For the Birds in Baltimore!

I really wanted to capture this Red Headed Woodpecker on the railing next to the red berry bush.

The challenge...not enough patience.

Red Headed....

This same patience is necessary when selling homes in Baltimore. You have to try things a different way. Instead of waiting and wasting time for this beautiful bird to lite near the red berries, I took a separate photo of the berries. Then I put the two together.

Hey it worked for me. I got the woodpecker and the red bush together but I did it the Rome way.

Would you like fries with that? HomeRome

A phone call came in while I was showing my special home at 9913 Middle Mill Drive Owings Mills, MD. 21117. The caller wanted to see one of my condos and asked about  the monthly fees.

I asked it he could leave me a message or a text so I could give him more information about the unit.

This time also gives me the opportunity to check out the potential buyer and give him my undivided attention. It also lets the potential buyers that are with me know they are  important.

After returning his call and getting some necessary information, the appointment was made. Right before I  was about to say ' I'll meet you at 3:00 today' ...I asked: 'Are there any other properties you would like to see?' (In other words, would you like fries with that?)

He hesitated and then told me about another listing he had been following. It was not a condo but he was interested in one of my ranchers. Before we hung up, I had appointments to show him three of my listings.

Since I had a 2:00 showing at one of my ranchers located at  7901 Winterset Ave in Stevenson 21208, I asked him to meet me there to save us both time.

Instead of making one appointment to see just one condo...we were able to see three properties.  He was joined by extended family, one who may be selling a property in the near future. Tomorrow, we go out again to see one more house.

So don't forget to ask ..

Feed the Kitties...Feed the Birdies... While Showing 3738 Bixler Church Rd. Westminster, MD

Feed the Kitties...Feed the Birdies... While Showing 3738 Bixler Church Road, Westminster, MD 21158

These two gals always greet  me at the house... continually looking in the glass front door, jumping up to make themselves known. Why, because they know I will feed them.  And that is my pleasure!

But they need to be a bit more patient...they need to know I have to get the house ready first! Security systems turned off, thermostat checked, doors unlocked, lights on, rooms opened up... all before prospective buyers arrive.

'Mom' (the black kitty on the left) and 'Sharkey' do not like to wait!  And they let me know!

These pretty girls have beautiful green eyes, are spayed and will remain with the home for the new buyers....no extra charge!

I also like placing seed in the birdhouse feeder. Within minutes there is so much action...I call it a "Fly-In 711"

Can you see the three different birds feasting?

We had back to back showings yesterday at  3738 Bixler Church Road...a very special cantilevered  Contemporary in Westminster.

Spring  is such a pretty time to show this property. The trees are starting to bud but are still naked enough so you can see the house. The ground is greening and the many bulbs planted by the owners are starting to rise.

Both prospective buyers expressed, what seems like, serious interest. Some lucky people will be able to call this Frank Lloyd Wright  ''style'' house a home.

What About This Looks Like Rain?

What About This Looks Like Rain?  When I went to bed last night, the forecast was for rain because the temperatures were way to high for snow. So I got up at my usual 5:30 to get ready for the gym, looked outside.....

Now please tell me what about this looks like rain?

Yesterday, my birds got new homes...new feeders and filled to the brim with food. Such perfect timing..only now I have to wait for them to return. Guess they liked the old busted up feeders better.  Even my  Greedy little furry friends have not stopped by  for breakfast.  Where are my Birds?

Wonder if it will be anything like last year..when Baltimore was for the birds!

So I ask  you again, What About This Looks Like Rain?

This Home Is For the Birds...Watching!

                                                 Contemporary HomeRome 410-530-2400

We live on the inside of homes but what we see from each room can be a real joy. My seller took this video after  I mentioned how much I loved  watching the birds  while showing this contemporary home.

This home brings tranquility and a feeling of being on vacation, taking time to slow down...to take note of the beautiful nature that is all around. I love it when my sellers share information on their special homes. It make for a strong partnership and helps  get the best description out to the public. I am so fortunate to work with such outstanding owners.

Please click on the photo below to watch the owner's video.

How I Will Remember the Baltimore Blizzard of 2010

Snowbound families. Clogged roads. Icy sidewalks. Cabin fever. They are all part of The Blizzard of 2010 in the Baltimore/Washington area. The snow's not going anywhere soon,...so there will be more stories of kids missing school and state budgets destroyed by the cost of cleanup.

But that's not what I will remember when the summer heat and humidity return. I will recall the entertainment in my front yard as the acrobatic squirrels leapt from feeder to feeder, cleaning me out of seeds…again.

This is How I Will Remember the Baltimore Blizzard of 2010

I'll remember the thrill of digging my driveway and finding buried treasure in the snow – the newspaper! The sound of the most popular man around as he worked his little bobcat up and down the street.

With technology, of course, I kept on working, listing, and selling. But a record-breaking snow like this deserves time to enjoy its beauty and the reminder of how much entertainment we can find by just taking the time to stop and watch Mother Nature's show.

Shack Wacky Baltimore Neighborhood Freed by a Bobcat!

Yesterday was my normal work out day at the gym. But in case you have been on another planet, you know we are in the midst of yet another blizzard. And My Street is Not Even Plowed! Baltimore is Not Just for the Birds!

We were reminded to keep generators clear of snow...ok guess that is one of my assignments. After all...how much bird and squirrel watching can one do? Lots... Aren't these critters wonderful?

The "Mrs" in the blizzard!

Shovel that helped with the lunges

Part of my exercise training is squats and lunges and they came in handy. No way could I walk under the house eaves...that was all ice. How do I get all the way to the opposite side where the generator is located? Here's how.. I removed one big shovel of snow to step in, used the shovel as a crutch, dug the next big hole and took another step..repeating until I made it all the way around. I cleared the snow off the generator and returned in my own "footsteps" each one a huge lunge. Now that's what I call a great workout.

Came back in and emailed Johnny, my personal trainer, thanking him for keeping me in such good shape! With a Little Help from His Friends - An Ironman Lesson

We didn't get plowed until Tuesday night when this other critter called a Bobcat cleared our street. A sight to behold the pushing, the shoving, the backing, the turning and... in about an hour our "shack wacky" neighborhood was open....but too late to go out, the next snowfall blizzard was already here.

Snow Cardinals HomeRome.com Don't you love my beautiful supervisors?

'My Steps' HomeRome.com

I found my steps buried under a few feet of snow!

I had such good plans! We had plenty of warning about this blizzard and record breaking snowfall. So prepared I was....last night I went out and shoveled the 2-3 inches of snow from my driveway and front steps. Not too bad, it was a heavy snow. Yes, I was going to stay ahead of this one. Figuring if I did this every couple hours, it would be a piece of cake. Took a nap...slept well..woke up sore from the exercise... Ha..The next time I looked...where did my driveway and steps go?

It is soooo pretty but there is soooo much work to do.

Lenn Harley wrote a post earlier this morning and I commented " Beauty abounds as long as we have internet and electricity. Thank goodness for a backup generator which turned on only once during the night. Only one of the four TVs are working. My snow shovel and I are having multiple dates today.

The male and female cardinals make excellent supervisors. Glad I put the camera in my pocket. Figure by the time I shovel the driveway (no time soon) and my front steps which are done... the plow might get here.''

So what does this have to do with real estate? Take a look at a few properties that you could Forget the Snow...Live in a Condo!

Baltimore Snow is For the Birds! Beautiful birds! So glad I filled the feeders in preparation for the snow!
